Available in water-based (T-series) or solvent-based (D-series), dot markers are typically used in tire manufacturing to denote high point, conicity, and pass/fail marks.
The dots help to ensure synchronization of the tires during the rim assembly process and when mounting a tire. Dot markers are applied by hand or by a balancing/uniformity machine.
The average number of dots produced by each marker (with normal use) is approximately 5,000 dots (± 10%).
