NeverFade® Façade Restoration Coatings with Kynar Aquatec® have been recognized by Architectural Products Magazine as a 2018 Product Innovation Award (PIA) winner. The exterior coating system also earned a Special Citation for Sustainability. The Architectural Products PIA champions product ingenuity in the building environment. Winning products and projects were chosen by a panel of 16 judges including architects, interior designers, lighting designers and veteran A/E/C writers based on their value to architects in the specification process. The judges recognized NeverFade® Coatings for its “excellent warranty and excellent life.” They also made note of the coatings as “naturally sustainable as a long-lasting paint with low VOC, allowing for reduction in construction material by increasing recoat periods.”

The newest VYNGUARD® formulation from APV Engineered Coatings has been recognized by the coatings industry in the inaugural PaintSquare Prestige Award as the Top Product winner in the award program’s Specialty Function Coatings category. VYNGUARD® Polycarbonate Anti-Microbial, launched to OEMs in June, is a factory-applied coating technology designed to resist degradation caused by gram-negative and positive bacteria on coating flexible vinyl and PVC surfaces. The top finish is engineered extend the aesthetics and service life of vinyl products by protecting the substrate from developing mildew, mold, bacteria and pink staining. It also has exceptional UV protection and a soft hand-feel. VYNGUARD® Polycarbonate Anti-Microbial is ideal for use in high-end wall coverings, mass transit seating, marine upholstery and fabrics, as well as flexible vinyl decking.

An exterior restoration of the Westin Tampa Waterside Hotel using NeverFade® Façade Restoration Coatings with Kynar Aquatec® was recognized by Commercial Construction and Renovation Magazine with a 2019 Project Profile Award. The award honors the “best-of-the-best” construction projects, as voted on by the magazine’s editorial board. The restoration project, undertaken by NeverFade® Certified Applicator and façade restoration experts Stuart Dean Company, provided a much-needed facelift and extended the service life of the hotel’s façade by 25-30 years. It was accomplished at a much lower cost than replacing the brick façade and window profiles or having to repaint the exterior every three to five years, which is a typical coating lifecycle in Florida.

The façade restoration of a Class-A office building in southern California has won the 2020 Metal Architecture Design Award in the Renovations and Retrofit category. Architects judging the award recognized the holistic restoration project for “nailing the recreation and restoration of the [original] design intent” and for “the pride in doing a job that well.” Coating contractor Stuart Dean Company used NeverFade® Metal Restoration Coating with Kynar Aquatec® to give the 45-year-old, 18-story anodized aluminum structure in Newport Beach a clean, new, factory-like finish and a 30-year extended service life. The company is a National Certified Applicator for NeverFade® Coatings.

The façade restoration of a center for disadvantaged children in South Florida won a PaintSquare Elevation Award in the Renovation/Retrofit category. The award for the Jewish Adoption and Foster Care Options (JAFCO) Children’s Ability Center restoration project recognized the outstanding use of coatings to enhance the appeal of a building renovation or retrofit, in terms of both aesthetics and functional value.

The exterior restoration of a 1970s “high-tech” architecture building using NeverFade® Metal Restoration Coatings from APV Engineered Coatings has received an Elevation Award in the program’s Renovation/Retrofit category. The annual award program, sponsored by Technology Publishing Company and the Commercial Painting Industry Association, recognizes the best work in commercial painting, in addition to the people behind the coating jobs – the architects, painting contractors, interior designers, decorative artisans, manufacturers and suppliers. The renovation of the former Federal Aviation Administration West Coast headquarters (now known as 15000 Aviation) in Hawthorne, California, was conducted by Stuart Dean Company, a national provider of renowned interior and exterior architectural restoration services. Stuart Dean refinished the building’s 40,000-square-foot Class One clear anodized aluminum exterior from the ground floor to the roof, including all window surrounds, window frames, façade panels, soffit panels and turns.

The façade restoration of an aluminum-clad office building in Sleepy Hollow, NY, was honored with a first place finish in the 2021 CoatingsPro Magazine Contractor Award for excellence in the field of high-performance commercial and industrial coatings. The award in the Specialty Projects category was presented April 28 at the CORROSION 2021 Virtual Conference & Expo, sponsored by the Association for Materials Protection and Performance (AMPP), a new organization formed by the merger of NACE International and The Society for Protective Coatings (SSPC).

The restoration project, conducted by Stuart Dean Company, took top honors in the Specialty Project Category of the CoatingsPro Magazine Contractor Awards, presented today at the Association for Materials Protection and Performance (AMPP) Annual CORROSION Conference & Expo. The project also received the award program’s first Work It Safe award for Stuart Dean’s attention to jobsite safety. Program judges recognized Stuart Dean for “bringing all the [project] parties together and their extensive training.”

In recent years, the exterior of the building had begun to deteriorate and needed a repaint to restore life to the facility. This award was given for the effective use of coatings and other substrate treatments to enhance the interior and/or exterior of a mixed-use commercial building. Examples include buildings where spaces are shared for retail, hospitality, restaurants, entertainment and transportation. In Multi-Family/Residential High-Rise, Trump Hollywood Condominium took the award, with work done by painting contractor Capital Contractor Services and materials supplied by APV Engineered Coatings. Located on a picturesque oceanfront location in Hollywood Beach, Florida, the 41-floor Trump Hollywood condominium building embodies South Florida luxury.
